For me, the tostada is the ideal short board for waves up to head high. The rails are a little fuller than the average board which for me is better for groveling in the smaller surf. Most of the foam on this board is under your feet as it thins out through the nose.
This thickness under your feet helps you keep speed through flat sections and keeps floatation on the water. I feel like I can order this board shorter and wider than a normal shortboard. I'm 6'0" and 170lbs so I mostly ride the 5'9", 5'10" and my step up is a 6'0".
5’11” x 19 1/8”x 2 3/8” Vol 28.6
This specific high perfomance surfboard model works really good in the small stuff in particularly. The light weight epoxy glassjob really helps you generate speed and gives you that extra spring through those tough and tricky flat sections of the wave.
The way the thickness of the board is is distributed is awesome, having more flotation near your front foot gives the board extra speed potential and allows you to maximize your drive on different types of waves.
I rode this board an inch smaller than my typical shortboard a bit wider and thicker also. I'm 165 pounds and ride this board at 5'11" 19 1/8" x 2 3/8" with 28.6 liters.
Highly recomended for your summer quiver, from the everyday surf at your homebreak to the perfect traveling companion for your next adventure
